How to Do Makeup for Green Eyes
Jul 29th 2012, 14:00

Every female appreciates making her color of eyes pop using different makeup techniques and colors. Green eyes are beautiful and deserve to be enhanced; sometimes though, depending on your complexion or choice of makeup, their particular beauty can be hard to notice. In this article, you'll find a few ways to make the most of your natural green eyes using makeup.

Edit Steps

Getting the right skin tone

  1. Apply foundation. Apply any concealer you need first. Try to get a foundation that is just a notch lighter than your regular skin tone. Just make sure it's not noticeably too light. Smooth the foundation all over your face. Then apply a dusting of pressed powder in your regular skin tone.
  2. Apply blush. Use a medium to light red, or hot pink. These colors on your cheekbones highlight your eyes. Use a plump blush brush to apply and only apply a thin layer––don't cake it on your face.

Opposites attract with green

  1. You can use a green to brighten green eyes, but use an opposite shade. Prime your eyes first, using a very light tone.
  2. Apply brown eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner defines your eyes a bit more, whereas pencils can smudge easier, so try to use liquid. Eyeliner pens work well too.

  3. If you have dark green eyes, apply a light green eyeshadow to your crease. Apply up to three layers if you like it bright. Add some glitter if you'd like.
  4. If you have light green eyes, apply a smooth layer of a dark forest green eyeshadow to your crease. Add glitter if desired.
  5. Apply a shiny ivory or white eyeshadow layer to the top of the green layer.
  6. Apply some lengthening mascara.

Girly purple

  1. Apply a light tone primer.
  2. Apply a medium layer of dark purple on your lash line.
  3. Apply the medium purple on top of that layer. This color should reach a bit above your crease line.
  4. Apply the lightest purple to the rest of the space, leaving about one centimeter of skin from the brow.
  5. Apply some glitter if desired, and eyeliner with mascara.
  6. To finish off, apply clear glitter lip gloss.
