Blended watermelon juice - Slice the watermelon on a cutting board. Cut the slices into pieces about 1 inch (2.5cm) thick.
- Put the watermelon slices into a bowl, rubber container, or onto a plate, using a fork to prevent messiness.
- Put the watermelon in the blender. Add sugar or sweetener, if desired. Pour in a couple of cups of cold water and some ice cubes.
- Blend well until smooth and serve over lots of ice.
Mashed watermelon juice - Select a suitable watermelon. If the watermelon has seeds, try and remove as many of the seeds as possible before making the juice.
- Cut the watermelon in half, cutting the long way.
- Use a large sauce spoon to scoop out the watermelon into a large plastic container or bowl.
- Using a potato masher, mash the watermelon flesh as much as you can.
- Put the watermelon in the blender. Blend until smooth.
- Pour and serve. Garnish with a mint leaf.
Heated lemon watermelon juice Heating the watermelon draws out more of the flavor and juice. Adding lemon provides a tasty tang to the final flavor. - Cut the rinds off the watermelons. Slice the flesh into uniform chunks (about 2 inches/5cm).
- Blend the chunks, mint, and lemon juice until the watermelon becomes mushy.
- Pour through a sieve into a saucepan. Press down using a wooden spoon to release the most juice. Mix the juice with sugar.
- Turn the heat on medium-low. Heat to reduce to a desired thickness, stirring frequently.
- Make sure that the mixture never comes to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Pour into a container and chill until cold. Serve with a liberal amount of ice.
Pomegranate and watermelon juice The addition of pomegranate produces an acidic-sweetness that is really delicious. - Scoop the flesh out of the watermelon. Remove the seeds from the pomegranate. Keep some aside for garnish.
- Place the watermelon flesh into a juicer or blender. Add the pomegranate seeds and raspberries. Juice or blend.
- Pour the juice over a glass to which ice has already been added. Decorate with the leftover pomegranate seeds. Serve.
- Make sure to take the seeds out of the watermelon.
- If you want to switch it up a little, try other melons, like cantaloupe, honeydew-melon, or anything else you can think of.
- You can add some (washed) mint leaves in the blender, for an especially cool taste.
Edit Warnings - Use appropriate care when using knives.
