What's better than hot dogs? Hot dogs wrapped in bacon.

Edit Ingredients

  • Hot dogs
  • Enough bacon for one slice per hot dog
  • Brown sugar for sprinkling (optional but delicious}
  • Frying oil or butter

Edit Steps

  1. Lay out a slice of bacon on a silicon or wooden chopping board.
  2. Place the hot dog on the bacon at one end. Roll the bacon and hot dog around and around until the bacon covers the whole hot dog. Set aside.
  3. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs. You might need to use toothpicks to hold the bacon in place––judge this as you roll.
  4. Heat the heavy based skillet over low heat. Add the butter or oil.
  5. Add the bacon wrapped hot dogs. Sprinkle with a little brown sugar.
  6. Fry. Turn over midway. Fry until the bacon looks cooked.
  7. Remove from the heat. Place on paper towel to drain excess grease.
  8. Serve with coleslaw or whatever else you usually enjoy with hot dogs.

Edit Tips

  • One variation is to slit the hot dogs and stuff the inside with cheese before wrapping in bacon.
