If you like cute food charms, the Oreo charm is bound to appeal to you. It's easy to make from polymer clay, yummy to look at and if you find you enjoy making it, it could be start of a few simple but thoughtful gifts to make for friends.

Edit Steps

  1. Roll two balls out of black clay and flatten them out.
  2. Roll a ball out of white clay and flatten it out.
  3. Place the flat white circle on top of a black circle. Place the other black circle on top.
  4. Decorate the Oreo cookie charm. Use a toothpick or a modelling tool to make the typical cookie edge markings. Alternatively, try using a real Oreo cookie––simply push it into the clay to leave more realistic markings. (Don't push so hard that the cookie cracks and embeds the clay with crumbs!)
  5. Add the jewellery finding to your Oreo charm.
  6. Bake the Oreo in the oven according to the package instructions.
    • If preferred, glaze the Oreo charm to give it a shiny finish.
  7. Add the necklace chain. It's ready to wear.

Edit Tips

  • Wash your hands after you handle the black clay to avoid discolouring the white clay.

Edit Warnings

  • Make sure to follow the package instructions for baking the clay.
