Position a barbell or body bar comfortably across your upper back. Place the ball of each foot on a 25-pound weight plate (a). Rise up on your toes as high as you can. Pause, then slowly lower back to the starting position (b). That's one rep.

Note: If you don't have a barbell, you can hold dumbbells, either at your sides or at shoulder height.
