How to Clear the iCal Cache Feb 2nd 2013, 02:00 Deleting the cache in iCal on a Mac may solve some technical problems. It's easier than it sounds. - Quit iCal.
- Go to your library folder. Get there by pressing Go and the Option key simultaneously from Finder. Detailed instructions on how to find the library folder can be found here.
- Go to Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache. Make a copy of "Calendar Cache" for backup. Move the original "Calendar Cache" to the trash.
- Repeat the procedure for an iCal file. Go to Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal if that folder exists. Make a backup copy of "Cache.db". Put the original "Cache.db" in the trash.
- Restart iCal. Your iCal cache is now cleared.
- If problems persist, back up and then delete Library/Calendars/*.calendar/Events in similar fashion.
- Clearing the iCal cache may solve the errors seen with these iCal messages[1]:
