Apple slices are dressed up by macerating them in a bit of brandy before glazing them in a chafing dish. If a chafing dish is not available, cook the apple slices over medium heat in an electric skillet.

Edit Ingredients

  • 4 apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • Brandy
  • Lemon juice
  • Sugar, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar (icing sugar), to taste
  • Cinnamon, to taste

Edit Steps

  1. Thinly slice the apples and place them in a non-reactive bowl.
  2. Add brandy, lemon juice and sugar to a small bowl.
  3. Mix ingredients together.
  4. Check seasonings and add more brandy, lemon juice or sugar, as needed.
  5. Pour over apple slices and let macerate for approximately 1 hour.
  6. Melt butter in chafing dish.
  7. Saute apple slices and then dust with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Serve hot.
