How to Straighten Hair Ribbons

After tying ribbons into bows or knots in your hair, the ribbons often come out bent or wrinkled up. These unsightly ribbons can hardly be worn again without looking bad. However here's a very simple way to straighten these ribbons back to perfection.

Edit Steps

  1. Plug in your straightening iron. Turn it to approximately 75%-50% of the total heat it can go to. (depending on how hot your iron can actually get)
  2. Get your desired ribbon. Move the straightening iron down it as if you are straightening your hair.
  3. Do not let the iron stay in one section of the ribbon for a prolonged time. Instead, if a certain area still appears to be wrinkled just straighten the area repeatedly until it becomes straight. If you leave the iron on one section of the ribbon, it may singe the ribbon, spoiling its color.
  4. Finished.

Edit Tips

  • This may not work for all hair ribbons. Test a small area first.
  • Slightly misting the ribbon with water (if the fabric is suitable for this) will speed up the straightening process.

Edit Warnings

  • Hold the straightener with care, to avoid burning yourself.
  • Do not leave the straightener on any part of the ribbon for a prolonged period; it may singe or even burn the ribbon.
