| How to Fold a Bus Note Oct 17th 2012, 02:00 At many camps, when the kids were on their way out, they would give each other notes to read on the bus once they'd left. But those giving the notes faced a problem: the note was only folded in half, so many kids gave in and read the note before they got to the bus, much to the disappointment of the person who wrote the note. To solve this problem, the kids would make a bus note. This way, the note could only be opened once, and could not easily be read, reducing the likelihood that the receiver would succumb to temptation prior to boarding the bus. Here's how to make your own bus note. - Start out with a rectangular piece of paper. An A4 piece of paper is perhaps the most preferable. A4 paper is a commonly used size of paper often used in printers, found in most stationery stock stores. This size of paper measures 8.27 X 11.69 inches or 21.0 × 29.7 cm.
- Write your note on the paper. It doesn't matter where you write it.
- Fold all of the corners on the paper. Fold it as if you were making a paper airplane, only do it to all of the corners.
- Fold the sides in. Follow the picture for guidance.
- Fold the points in. Now the paper should be in the shape of a rectangle with no ends sticking out.
- Fold about one third of the paper backwards. If you turn it around, you should just see one end, and the same goes for the other side.
- Flip the paper over so that it looks like the one in the illustration.
- Wedge the first side into the other. Take the top of the paper and fold it down, in half.
- Next, wedge the corners of that side into the open corners of the second side.
- Turn the paper around 180 degrees. For the finishing touch, write "pull" onto the triangle sticking out of the corners. When pulled, the paper should come apart, revealing your hidden message. Your friend will be afraid of opening it early because they won't be able to put it back together!
- Finished.
- If everyone you know uses this trick, different colors can make yours unique and crafty.
- Once you get good at it, see how many you can fold in one minute.
- This is a fun thing to do to occupy your hands, but don't fold every piece of paper you see into a bus note. People will probably get annoyed if you leave a trail of bus notes wherever you go.
