If you're like most people using Facebook, it's likely that you've become very tired of seeing all of those app requests in your timeline. Fortunately, you can get rid of them permanently––here's what to do.

Edit Steps

  1. Log on to Facebook. Go to the upper right hand corner and click on the down arrow located beside 'Home'.
  2. Click on Privacy Settings.
  3. Beside the 'Ads, Apps, and Websites' section, click on Edit Settings.
Beside the 'Ads, Apps, and Websites' section, click on Edit Settings.
Beside the 'Ads, Apps, and Websites' section, click on Edit Settings.
  4. Click on the red X that you see.
  5. Read the warning that comes up. If you use Facebook to sign in to various websites, you will not want to turn off the platform. On the other hand, if you don't want to access other sites using Facebook, click on Turn off Platform.
  6. Done. You should now be free of app requests in your Facebook timeline.

Edit Tips

  • You do have the option to use Twitter to sign into various websites. Usually where one is used, the other is used. However, that isn't always the case.
  • If you choose not to do this, consider turning them off manually.
