How to Do a Curly Bun

Want to do a twist on a regular old hair bun? This look adds some curls, and is great for everyday wear or for special occasions like Prom. Here's how to do it.

EditSteps

  1. Comb through hair. Make it nice and tangle-free.
  2. Pull back your hair in a high or medium ponytail. If you have bangs, pin them aside, but don't pull them back.
  3. Take small sections of hair and curl them.
  4. Bobby pin individual curls to your head about 1 inch (3 centimeters) away from the ponytail.
    • Don't scrunch up the curl.
    • Pin the section of hair about 1 inch (3 centimeters) from its bottom.
  5. Repeat the process until all hair in the ponytail is curled and pinned around it.
  6. Set with hairspray.
  7. Finished.
