| How to Make a Mind Eraser Shot Feb 9th 2013, 16:00 This shot earns its name from the fact that, when consumed correctly, it is supposed to leave a feeling similar to that of having eaten ice cream too quickly. If that sounds like something you're daring enough to try, here's how to make––and drink––the mind eraser shot! Edit Ingredients Servings: 1 - 1 1/4 oz. (40 ml) coffee liqueur
- 3/4 oz. (25 ml) vodka
- Splash of club soda
- Ice
- Fill a mixing glass with ice.
- Pour coffee liqueur, vodka and a splash of club soda over the ice.
- Gently shake the contents to combine them.
- Strain the liquid into your shot glass. It can be garnished with a citrus wedge or similar.
- Drink it immediately through a small straw. You are supposed to consume the entire drink by gulping it through the straw in one quaff, in order to get the "mind eraser" feeling. But, you don't have to––taking it slowly still tastes great.
- Note that it's the carbonation that gives the sense of an "ice cream headache" when consumed quickly.
- This shooter tends to be a popular party drink because it sorts out those who can manage to get it down in one quick straw drink, and those who find it all too hard!
Edit Warnings - Drinking alcohol quickly can lead to getting drunk quickly. Be careful how much you consume.
- Drinking any liquid quickly can result in the liquid going down your windpipe if not careful. Stop immediately if you start to cough or choke. Be alert for signs of others suffering respiratory difficulties if using this shooter at a party.
- Drink responsibly. Never drink and drive.
